This elegant nineteenth century town house in the centre of the town exceeded all my expectations. I stayed in one of the suites which was comfortable and well furnished with modern and antique furniture and an en suite bathroom. If the weather had been warm I could also have enjoyed the terrace and secluded garden and pool. Breakfast was delicious with more on offer than I could eat - loved the croissants, local cheese and homemade jam. The best part of the stay, however, were my hosts, Pascal and Laurence, who were so friendly and helpful even offering to drive me to Bordeaux if my train was cancelled because of a strike. If you are staying in Bergerac stay here and you will not be disappointed.

Really makes this place, one of the very best I have ever stayed in, was the personal welcome com the owners and their son. I was met at the airport and transported to my huge suite overlooked the garden and swimming pool. As well as the usual things for breakfast there was a different home made cake every day and yummy home made jams. This amazing house is on the main square and just a five minutes walk from the church which is surrounded by a large vibrant market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I cannot wait to go back!”

“We were greeted at this beautifully refurbished & modernised house situated in the heart of Bergerac by host Pascal who runs it along with his wife Laurence and son Arthur. He was very welcoming and helpful and showed us to our rooms which are enormous and have ensuite state of the art bathrooms and little touches to make your stay more comfy like nice toiletries and soft fluffy towels. The house is full of charm and character. Breakfast is charged extra but is excellent with fresh produce & home-made jams and served in a dining room with open terrace overlooking a lovely garden and swimming pool. Sadly we were only able to stay one night, but if you need to stay more, it is well situated to explore Bergerac and surroundings. Pascal recommended a restaurant not far away which was outstanding and took our booking at short notice. HIghly recommend you try this if you are travelling to the area.”

“We had a 10+ excellent experience during 4 nights at Le Clos d'Argenson. My adult daughter and I stayed in the Jeanne Suite which has 2 separate rooms with their own beds, with the toilet in one and the shower/sink in the other. It is spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The house is fabuleux, quiet, with plenty of room to relax, and the grounds a peaceful haven after our 2 prior weeks of train journeys through France and Spain. Breakfast was delicious with just the right amount of choices. The croissants, breads, and jams were awesome, and there was always a variety of cereal, yogurt, fruit, and cheese. Pascal and Laurence are wonderful, caring, fun people as well as wonderfully professional, capable, and organized. They know exactly what it takes to be excellent innkeepers, hosts, and travel advocates. The long rail strike occurred during our stay and they looked up train and bus schedules for us, keeping us informed for 2 days and easing our worries. We were able to relax by the pool and not worry overmuch about being stranded in Bergerac; not that it would be a bad thing to be stranded at Le Clos d'Argenson, but one must return home to reality eventually. We rented a car for a day to drive to Beynac, Sarlat, and Les Eyzies for further exploring although we had been to Les Eyzies the previous year by train. There is ample private parking which Pascal assisted with nicely. Bergerac is a great central location for exploring but interesting in its own right for a stay. The weather was quite warm while we were there, but even on the second floor facing the evening sun the suite was comfortable enough if we let the cool air in at night and trapped it inside closed windows during the day; and there is always the sparkling clean pool to take a cooling dip as well. I'm sure the ground floor rooms stay quite cool in warm weather, as well as the second floor suite facing the garden.”

“We were greeted at this beautifully refurbished & modernised house situated in the heart of Bergerac by host Pascal who runs it along with his wife Laurence and son Arthur. He was very welcoming and helpful and showed us to our rooms which are enormous and have ensuite state of the art bathrooms and little touches to make your stay more comfy like nice toiletries and soft fluffy towels. The house is full of charm and character. Breakfast is charged extra but is excellent with fresh produce & home-made jams and served in a dining room with open terrace overlooking a lovely garden and swimming pool. Sadly we were only able to stay one night, but if you need to stay more, it is well situated to explore Bergerac and surroundings. Pascal recommended a restaurant not far away which was outstanding and took our booking at short notice. HIghly recommend you try this if you are travelling to the area.”

My adult daughter and I stayed in the Jeanne Suite which has 2 separate rooms with their own beds, with the toilet in one and the shower/sink in the other. It is spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The house is fabuleux, quiet, with plenty of room to relax, and the grounds a peaceful haven after our 2 prior weeks of train journeys through France and Spain. Breakfast was delicious with just the right amount of choices. The croissants, breads, and jams were awesome, and there was always a variety of cereal, yogurt, fruit, and cheese. Pascal and Laurence are wonderful, caring, fun people as well as wonderfully professional, capable, and organized. They know exactly what it takes to be excellent innkeepers, hosts, and travel advocates. The long rail strike occurred during our stay and they looked up train and bus schedules for us, keeping us informed for 2 days and easing our worries. We were able to relax by the pool and not worry overmuch about being stranded in Bergerac; not that it would be a bad thing to be stranded at Le Clos d'Argenson, but one must return home to reality eventually. We rented a car for a day to drive to Beynac, Sarlat, and Les Eyzies for further exploring although we had been to Les Eyzies the previous year by train. There is ample private parking which Pascal assisted with nicely. Bergerac is a great central location for exploring but interesting in its own right for a stay. The weather was quite warm while we were there, but even on the second floor facing the evening sun the suite was comfortable enough if we let the cool air in at night and trapped it inside closed windows during the day; and there is always the sparkling clean pool to take a cooling dip as well. I'm sure the ground floor rooms stay quite cool in warm weather, as well as the second floor suite facing the garden.”

Our host, Pascal, was warmly welcoming and solicitous of our comfort.
The weather had been cool and wet, and heaters were on; there was tea and biscuits in our
room, towels were thick and bedlinen luxurious.
He offered to book a restaurant in the evening and helped (by making some tricky
phone-calls) with some difficulties we had in amending a booking for
another hotel.

Our rooms were large, in keeping with this generously-proportioned house, overlooking
a pleasant rear garden with a pool for Summer months. It is close to
the old town and to the station.

Wonderfully restored period house in the centre of Bergerac.
The rooms are elegant and very spacious- there are only four.
Breakfast was excellent and served on the terrace over looking the quiet and secluded garden with
pool. The owners could not be more welcoming and helpful .

The hotel is centrally located so everything is on the
doorstep,shopping,restaurants,bars,culture,all within easy reach.
As the hotel has only 4 rooms it is quiet and private.The rooms are absolutely
enormous with massive walk in showers,flat screen tv's,tea/coffee
making facilities and decorated to a high standard.
The communal areas are very chic and modern with some interesting artwork on the
walls.Outside there is a lovely swimming pool and garden,very tranquil
and perfect on a hot afternoon!
The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful,they gave us a glass of wine
whilst we relaxed by the pool and not only suggested the best restaurant
in Bergerac but booked us a table there too!
Perfect.

A former mayor's residence, it is a gem of late 19th century
architectural opulence decorated in an enchanting blended style. We
were all charmed. It's small, but has spacious and luxurious common
areas, and a small garden and pool. Pascal attended to our needs with
humor and kindness. The breakfast on the second floor outdoor terrace
was the delicious, the setting the stuff of dreams.

house:light blue shutters, huge windows, wonderful interieur, floral
curtains, swimming pool in the garden next to the small vegetable
garden, double sinks in the bathroom, fresh orange juice for breakfast

beautiful Bergerac.

Fine old house built by a former mayor of Bergerac. Now beautifully restored
in late 19th century style, with elegant spacious rooms. Quiet shady
garden with a new swimming pool. The proprietor very friendly and
helpful. The hotel is on the main square of Bergerac near the Tourist
Office, but quiet and peaceful within its garden.

Laurence et Pascal nous accueillent dans leur
nouvelle maison d'hôtes en plein centre ville. C'est
impressionnant de voir la restauration, avec beaucoup de goût
de cette demeure très ancienne, Ici il y a une âme
et on se sent immédiatement ''chez soi''. Notre chambre est
une suite avec un bon lit king size et une belle douche à
l'italienne. Nous profitons aussi d'un salon avec une belle vue sur le
jardin et la piscine. Nuit excellente. Le petit déjeuner est
pris dans une belle pièce à l'étage ou
sur la terrasse; Tout est frais et de bonne qualité. Un seul
regret: n'avoir passé ici qu'une seule nuit.

Les chambres et l'ensemble de la propriété ont été
remis en état avec beaucoup de travail et
beaucoup de gout.

Endroit très agréable en plein centre de Bergerac.
Chambre très grande avec salon. Tout ça est de très bon goût et
confortable.
Cerise sur le gâteau: la piscine au milieu du
jardin arboré et fleuri. Les propriétaires sont très
sympas et accueillants. Séjour reposant.

Tout commence par un accueil chaleureux de nos hôtes, au pied de
cette sublime demeure. On sait déjà que le moment
sera des plus agréable. Tout est mis à disposition pour suggérer la détente. Les
chambres sont belles, spacieuses, décorées avec goût et imagination. Il ne faut pas rater
le repas partager avec les hôtes dans le belle salle à manger: les
mets sont bons et copieux. Cette maison, grâce à Laurence et Pascal, respire le bonheur
et dégage une belle énergie. On n'a pas envie d'en partir!
